Services At Trilogy: Employment ServicesWork is an important factor in most of our lives, and this is no different for people who have a mental illness. Trilogy embraces the Evidence-Based Practice of Supported Employment. Supported Employment programs provide people with severe mental illness with direct placement in jobs in competitive, real-world settings with accompanying on-site and as-needed support services, which are designed to help individuals perform their job. Unlike more traditional approaches, supported employment programs use a rapid job search and placement approach to help recipients obtain jobs directly, rather than providing them with pre-employment vocational experiences. Importantly, staff and recipients find individualized job placements based on recipient preferences, strengths, and work experiences. An important feature of supported employment is equitable compensation: wages and benefits must be the same as other workers in similar jobs receive. Supported employment provides opportunities for individuals to foster independence via gainful employment. Our Job Development Coordinator identifies and builds relationships with community-based employers and worksites to develop job placements and settings identified by the clients. The Job Development Coordinator and Recovery Counselors work together to assist clients in finding and holding a job in the community. Recovery Counselors may serve as job coaches, supporting clients through the process of searching for and adjusting to employment. The program assists a wide-range of people, from those who have never worked and may need the entire continuum of training and support, to those who have extensive prior work histories and require minimum support to return to the workforce.
