Services At Trilogy: Latino ServicesOur Latino Services Program was established in March 2008 to fill a critical service gap in the Rogers Park and Evanston communities. We hired our Latino Services Coordinator, Alnierys Venegas, to help oversee the development of the program and increase access to a wide-range of linguistically and culturally competent, recovery-oriented services for Latinos living with serious mental illness. Additional funding received from the Helen V. Brach Foundation in April 2009 allows us to increase the impact of our services by employing an innovative “in-reach” strategy that increases the likelihood that Latino families will engage in needed services by providing culturally and linguistically competent education about mental illness and its treatments within their homes. This creative approach to engage people in need within their community and family context, allows Trilogy staff to follow-up with referrals rather than wait for consumers to walk through the clinic doors.
