Mental Health Awareness (MHAT) is a one-time, evidence-based training that helps individuals be better prepared to respond to people experiencing mental health challenges, including serious mental illness and emotional challenges.

Trilogy’s MHAT will increase your:

  • Understanding of the signs and symptoms of mental illness
  • Skills and confidence to be a mental health ally
  • Knowledge of resources so that you are better equipped to help people who may be experiencing a mental health challenge

What is MHAT?
Mental Health Awareness Training is an evidence-based practice designed to reduce stigma and increase individuals’ knowledge, skills, confidence, and resources to engage with someone experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges.

What is the purpose of MHAT?
The purpose of MHAT is to increase awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of individuals with, or at risk for, mental illnesses. It provides tools to recognize when someone needs help and education on how to respond. MHAT explores barriers individuals experience in accessing care, the impact of stigma and how we can combat it, as well as an overview of signs and symptoms of various mental illnesses.

Who can benefit from MHAT training?
Any group can benefit from Trilogy’s Mental Health Awareness Training. The information presented is accessible and engaging, and there are no prerequisites, making it perfect for groups seeking to help their members start a conversation around mental health, reduce stigma around mental illness, and build confidence.

MHAT can benefit your company, teams, congregation or religious group, community service or membership-based organization.

How much does MHAT cost?
MHAT is completely free, thanks to a grant from SAMHSA, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

How long is the training?
Your MHAT session will be approximately 2 hours or less.

Is the training virtual or in person?
Most groups opt for a virtual training, but in-person trainings are available. Please let us know your preference.

When is training available?
You can schedule your group’s training between 9 AM and 5 PM, Monday – Friday.
